The Bishnoi community is a truly glorious one with a history that should be featured in every Indian history book. These were the people who first stood up for nature, against the indiscriminate felling of trees and leasing of forests by the Government. 'Bishnoi' means 'twenty niners' and refers to the disciples of Guru Jambeshwar, a man who way back in the 16th century recognized the need to live in harmony with nature. From then till now, this community is responsible for the immense green cover in their region as well as nurturing many species of animals, including the endangered black buck.
This is the community that lodged the complaint against Salman Khan for hunting and killing a black buck. And once again, the Indian justice system has come through- supporting this two faced bastard, while putting down the word of a people with more integrity in one of their toenails than this guy has in his entire body.
